Larry Edward Blakey, age 70, was born in Savoy, TX, on February 22, 1947 and entered Heaven's gates on November 21, 2017.

Larry is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Joetta; six children: LaVonda Bass and her husband, Steve; Amanda Frye and her husband, Brian; Darla Pound and her husband, Brent; Dana Curry and her husband, Daniel; Brook Blakey and his wife, Carmen; Audria Kee and her husband, Mark; and Joetta's two children: Andrea Farrell and Tony Misita.

He was affectionately known as Papa Larry, Pepaw, and Pepal to twenty-one grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The fifth of eleven children, Larry is also survived by his brother, Bennie Blakey; his sister, Nancy Conkle; his brother, James Blakey; his sister, Betty Ratliff; his brother, Derrell Blakey; his brother, David Blakey; his brother, Marvin Blakey; and his sister, Lynn Clodfelder.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Leo Blakey; his mother, Audrey Faye Malone Blakey; his brother, John Blakey; and his sister, Martha Gunstanson.

Great in stature, Larry stood tall as a true Christian and devoted patriot. He was drafted into the Army and served with great pride as a combat medic in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed being the recipient of unsolicited honor by all who knew him.

For over forty years, Larry had a successful foundation repair company, but his passion was to witness to others about Jesus Christ, often citing Bible verses from memory. He was blessed with a heavenly voice that welcomed multitudes into churches, escorted couples down the aisles, and so many saints to their resting places.

With grace and poise, his rendition of The Lord's Prayer comforted so many others. Let it now comfort those he left behind...

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
