Linda Jo Rowell

January 8, 1934 - August 15, 2023

Linda Jo Rowell, daughter of the late Joseph York and Mary Linda Porter York, was born January 8, 1934, in Forney, Texas, and passed away quietly on August 15, 2023, in Rowlett, Texas. During her 89 years on this earth, she provided others with a place to call home, and now she is at home with the Lord.

Linda made a home for others through her hard work, hospitable personality and various acts of service. She graduated from Wylie High School at the top of her class in 1951. A beloved wife and mother, she raised her three daughters with love and care. As a skilled seamstress, she even clothed her family with a personalized touch. She welcomed lots of grandkids and great-grandkids into her home with a warm smile. She also enjoyed serving her church, Calvary First Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas, and spending time with her church family.

Her husband, Billy Ray Rowell, and her daughter, Karen Rowell, preceded her in death. Though her body is at rest, Linda's legacy lives on through the family she loved. She is survived today by loved ones, including: her brother David York, her daughters Susan Rowell Sifford and Julie Rowell Clements, her sons-in-law Pete Sifford and Mike Clements, as well as 5 grandchildren and their spouses, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

As a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda's life will forever be cherished and remembered with love and joy.
