Margie Ara Watkins (Cross), 87, departed this earth on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 after losing her fight to cancer. She was born on November 4, 1938 in Wylie, Texas to parents Ola Mae and Raymond Andrew Cross. Margie came from a big family, being the youngest of eight children. She grew up around Wylie and graduated high school there. After high school and at nineteen years old, Margie married the love of her life Winston Lafoun Watkins on January 5, 1957. They settled down and raised their children in the same area. Margie had many titles. She was a caretaker, who took care of many children around town. She owned a dress shop/western store, and also worked for Universal. Margie was kind spirited and was the sweetest, but also could be ornery if needed! She had a good heart and will be deeply missed by her loved ones. Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Ola and Raymond Cross, husband Winston Lafoun, son Rodney Watkins, and grand-daughter Shaunna Reneau Tiller, and In Laws Hoss and Flo Watkins. Margie is survived by children, Randy and Cindy; Becky and Vince, and Shawn Clevenger. Sister-In-Laws, Rose Cross and Betty Nan Watkins; Caroline May, Nicholas May, Brian May, Lanette Tiller and great-grandson Jordan Mastaw, multiple nieces, nephews, and other dear family members; A special thank you to nephew Ronnie Cross and all of his help.
