Marjorie Joy Mason Kirsch was born in Mason City, Iowa on March 1, 1937. She died on May 8, 2022 in Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Cady Mason and Robert W. Mason, her husband Horst G. Kirsch, and her sister Marilyn Mason Foss. She is survived by her son Christopher Edmund Kirsch (USAF retired) of Crestview, Florida, and daughter Erika Naomi Kirsch (Assem Peter Elias) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Marjorie graduated from Mason City High School in 1955 and received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa in 1959. She taught elementary instrumental music in Hagerstown, Maryland for two years, then in Des Moines, Iowa.

In 1964 she and Horst Kirsch were married and moved to Dallas, Texas. 1965 was spent in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dallas, Texas remained their home. They had two children, Christopher and Erika. After 2 ½ years in California they settled near Royce City, Texas before moving to Naples, Italy for six years. Marjorie taught bassoon lessons in the Dallas area schools for many years and played in various orchestras and other groups.
