Mary Ruth Justiss of Wylie passed away on Saturday April 25, 2020, 104 days shy of her 100 ^th birthday. Mary was born at home in Lavon, Texas on Sunday, August 8, 1920.  Mary's parents are the late Charles Andrew Forder and Lula May (Rees) Forder.  Mary lived her life in Lavon , went to school there and was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Lavon.  Mary married Johnie C. Justiss on November 7, 1936 in Farmersville, Texas.  Mary and Johnie lived in Lavon and that is where they raised their six daughters. Mary and Johnie owned and operated the Lavon Grocery and Texaco station for 24 years from 1961 until they sold it in 1985.

Mary is survived by her daughters:   Mary Watkins of Garland;  Charlyne Greve, and husband Buddy, of Royse City; Virginia Spearman, and husband Jerry, of Lavon; Carol Harrison of Garland;  Janie Daniels, and husband Roy, of Lavon; and Leta Cornelus, and husband Bob, of Lavon.  Her legacy also includes 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.  Preceding Mary in death were her parents, husband Johnie C. Justiss; 2 brothers, Isaac and Johnny Forder and her two sons-in-law; Bill Watkins and Jerry Harrison.

A graveside service will be held on April 28, 2020 at the Thompson Cemetery next to her husband.  Rev. Clint Bratcher will officiate.  Due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 virus the service will be limited to her daughters and their husbands.  A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family requested if you would like, you may make a donation to a charity of your choice in Mary's memory.
