Mattie Inez Michael came into this world on November 17, 1941.  At the time, she joined her mother (Mary), her father (Bob), brother (James), and sister (Frankie Jean) White on their small farm in Dyersburg, Tennessee.  Over the years, the family's farm got larger which coincided with Inez's family growing in numbers with addition of brothers (Hugh & Don) and the twins (sister Connie & brother Ronnie).  Along with her duties in the overall farm operations, Inez assisted her mother with the caregiving & upbringing of the three youngest children in the family.  It was through their care that Inez demonstrated her love, her sense of humor, her fun-loving & nurturing spirit, and her Christian faith which she continued to exhibit for the rest of her life.

Inez graduated from Wardell High School (Class of '59) in Wardell, Missouri.  Over the years she maintained strong ties to her classmates and never turned down the opportunity to make the journey back to Wardell for class reunions.  Shortly after graduation, Inez migrated from Missouri in hopes of creating a productive life in Dallas, Texas.  Upon her arrival, Inez quickly found her stride and started her career in administrative support, which she continued until her retirement.  Inez had a strong work ethic and, from an early age, committed to living a productive life both professionally & personally.

In Dallas, Inez met the love of her life (Tommey Wayne Michael).  They married and before God committed their lives to one another on November 11, 1961.  As a team they were a hard-working and adventurous couple.  In addition to their career commitments, they became agricultural entrepreneurs by the raising, caring, and ultimately selling of cattle & Arabian horses.  Inez & Tommey deeply loved their families and extensions thereof, and Inez always had a fascination with family genealogy.  It was important to her that she trace her and Tommey's family lineages.  This resulted in travel abroad to explore their family's roots throughout the United States & Europe.

During the first part of 1974, Tommey & Inez expanded the love in their life by bringing a daughter (Christina Joy) into their family.  In September 2001, Christina Joy gave Tommey & Inez a granddaughter (Elizabeth).  Elizabeth became the centerpiece for Tommey & Inez's love, attention, and concern.  Tommey & Inez had a love that lasted for over forty-two years.  Tommey was called from this Earth on June 30, 2002.  Upon her loss, Inez discovered a new group of friends in the Ladies of the Red Hat Society.  Many special friendships were cultivated and their fellowship played a tremendous role in her overall happiness.

There are many words that could be used to describe Inez's character.  She was a principled woman who believed in right & wrong.  She was a woman of strong faith.  Whenever a family member or friend was challenged by the trials of life, Inez was quick to take that person's hands and bow her head in prayer to put her full faith in her Lord Jesus Christ.  She had strength & courage for whatever life put into her path.  Inez valued her independence, even in times of great physical challenge which she increasingly experienced this last year.  She was a friend to many and a leader within her family.  Inez was proud to be an American and wholeheartedly loved her country.  She could always be counted on to attend community events to honor the service men and women returning from abroad.

Inez departed for Heaven on Saturday morning March 2, 2019.  She is survived by a family that adores her, including her Mother (Mary), brothers (James, Hugh, Don, and Ronnie), sisters (Frankie Jean and Connie), daughter (Christina Joy), granddaughter (Elizabeth), son-in-law (Frank), nephews (Mark, Michael, Brian, Christopher, Randy, and David), nieces (Debbie, Judy, Vickie, Tara, and Mary Amber).  In addition, Inez has sister-in-laws (Dortha, Flo, Janet, and Vickie), a brother in-law (Johnny), extended nieces & nephews that she loved & valued with all her heart.

Visitation is at Allen Funeral Home, 508 Masters Ave, Wylie, Texas on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 between 6pm and 7pm. Celebration of Life service will be at First Baptist Church of Wylie, 100 N. 1 ^st Street, Wylie, Texas on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11 o'clock. Interment is at Murphree Cemetery, Evant, Texas on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 12 o'clock.
