Melanee Dawn Grantham of Wylie, Texas passed away April 8, 2017 at the age of 52. She was born October 24, 1964 to James LaPrelle Powell and Susie Lynette Bailey in Texas City, Texas. Melanee enjoyed riding and showing horses with her sister Dolly growing up. As she got older she exchanged her horses for a motorcycle and rode for 15 years. Melanee married Charlie Noel Grantham on March 29, 1991 in Wylie, Texas. She had one son, Chance Remington Grantham, on January 18, 1994. Melanee was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who would do anything at a blink of an eye for anyone. She was a devoted Christian.

Melanee is survived by her husband, Charlie Grantham of Wylie, TX; son, Chance R. Grantham and wife Leah D. Casey (Grantham) of Wylie, TX; father, James LaPrelle Powell of Wylie, TX; mother, Susie Lynette Bailey, and her husband, Jerry D. Bailey of Hondo, TX; sister, Dolly Coldwell, and her husband, Robert Coldwell, their daughter, Cassy Robinett, and her husband, Kyle Robinett, and their son, Rhett, all from Center Point, TX; brother-in-law, Rick McAdams, and children, Ty and Levi of Farmersville, TX; brother-in-law, Johnny Grantham of Cheney, Kansas, and children, Jonathon of Maize, Kansas, Kaycee of Plano, TX, and Conor also of Plano, TX; and brother-in-law, Robert Grantham, and his wife, Josie, and their children, Ashley, Troy, Bryan, Cody and Makayla, all from Farmersville, TX.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Lonestar Cowboy Church in Nevada, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home in Wylie, Texas.
