With love and heavy hearts we are sharing this with the world. The life of our beloved. Melissa was born in Lorain Ohio on 8-29-1975 to Linda (Godfrey) Strader and Alvin Byrne. In 1980 Alvin met and married Linda (Wargo) in 1985.  In 1983 they moved to Plano Texas. She graduated from Plano East in 1995 with a cosmetology degree. Mel met and married Fred McCasland in 1999 and joined the LDS church. They are members of the Wylie 4th ward. Mel and Fred have 2 children Shelbylynn and Keith. Both children attended Wylie schools and graduated from Wylie East where Mel was an active mom with both the band and FFA. For about 16  years she worked as a crossing guard for the Wylie Police department. Mel is a part of a very large loving family. On Fred's side she added 3 brothers in laws. David with his wife Candy Mccasland, Carl Mccasland , and Ben with his wife Melissa Mccasland and 1 niece. As well as mother in law Rosemary Mccasland , and Father in law Jimmy with wife Linda Mccasland. Mel has many Brothers and sisters as well as nieces and nephews that already miss her immensely. Her family is as follows: Allen Byrne and Trish Spurlin with children Bella and Jace(Jody Meyer). Lisa Hoyt-Gibbs with Keith Mckinzie and children James Gibbs, Shay Gibbs, and Donovan Mckinzie. Linda Sue Byrne with children John, Chris and Shyanna Strader.Linda Sue has 3 grandchildren Serenity, Mateo, and Alec. Kim and Keith Parsons with children Ashton, Cody, Hunter and Hailey Parsons. Laura Hoyt and Bruce Montgomery with children Kedrick, Lauryn Hoyt and Tj Price. Leslie and Cash Jones with children Madison and Landyn Byrne, Aerial and Layla Jones. Elizabeth Byrne  and Tony Robles with children Alex , Aalayah,and Gordo Robles. Paul and Rose Byrne with child William. Mark and April Byrne with children Abigail & Sofia Lopez and Lily and Nolan Byrne. Michelle and Ethan Miller. Julia "Juju" and Jason Shutt. As well as a number on aunts uncles and cousins. Mel was also preceded in death by her grandparents The Wargo's , the Godfrey's and Laura Dann (Byrne), as well as her aunt Kathy Perry and cousin Richard Hall.  In lieu of flowers there are 2 ways to show love to Melissa she had stated that she would like donations to Cook Childrens hospital of Dallas the Hemotology lab in her name or there is a go fund me page to help within final expenses http://www.gofundme.com/f/paying-tribute-to-melissas-life-celebration ?  Her final resting place will be at the Wylie cemetery in Wylie Texas.
