Michael Dennis Smith, Sr. age 72 passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 26, 2020 in Richardson, Texas.  Mike was born on Wednesday, June 18, 1947 in Dallas, Texas.  His parents are the late Duward Wilson and Billie Ethel (Madera) Smith.  Mike married Vaneta Jean Roark on August 9, 1968 in Lancaster, Texas.  Mike had worked for the Dallas Independent School District as a liaison for the fire maintenance department.  Mike was a member of the Cottonwood Church of Christ.

Surviving Mike is his wife of 51 years, Vaneta Smith of Wylie; children, Michael Dennis Smith, Jr. of The Colony and Michelle Denise Smith of Wylie; one sister Diane Vaughn of Clarkrange, Tennessee and his 5 grandchildren.

A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Combine, Texas.  Minister Eric Hogue will officiate.
