Paula Gene Scanlan, 74, of St. Paul, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 in Richardson, Texas with her family at her side. Paula was born on Tuesday, July 6, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents, Paul Eugene Searcy and Frances Maurine (Houston) Searcy. Paula married John Clifford Scanlan on August 8, 1962 in Hugo, Oklahoma. John preceded Paula in death.

Paula had worked for the Wylie Independent School District for many years and on several of the campuses as a Librarian. She was a member of the Wylie United Methodist Church.

Surviving Paula are her sons, John Todd Scanlan, Jerry Phillip Scanlan and Kenneth Wayne Scanlan and his wife, Sandra, all of St. Paul. Also surviving Paula are her 4 grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Brenna and Daniel and her sister-in-law, Mary Jo Scanlan. Paula will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Clifford Scanlan, 2 sons, Ervin Christopher Scanlan and Michael Paul Scanlan and her parents, Paul E. and Frances M. Searcy.

Visitation for Paula will be on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Allen Funeral Home.  Her funeral service will be Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wylie United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in St. Paul, Texas.
