Perry Dyke Robinson sprang to life on January 28, 1944. The son of Roger Ray Robinson and Martha Christine Fikes, Perry grew up on a farm in Lone Cedar, Texas. When not in school, Perry picked cotton, corn, and a plethora of other fruits and vegetables. In no time, Perry was driving the tractor and other farm equipment the family used to make a living. With a mother intent on her son getting an education—"they can't take that away from you," she used to say—Perry graduated from Avalon High School and enrolled at Sam Houston State University, where he studied biology, ultimately graduating with a baccalaureate degree in 1966. While teaching elementary and middle school math in Mesquite ISD, Perry earned a masters degree in school counseling and accepted a position as a counselor in Wylie in 1970. He served as the high school counselor in Wylie until his retirement in 2005. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Adrian Ross Windham Robinson; daughter Wendy Suzanne Robinson Gruver and her husband, Eric; son Shain D. Robinson and his wife Diane Tucker Robinson; and four grandchildren: Emily Gruver, Hanna Robinson, Tucker Robinson, and Luke Robinson.

Perry passed away at Medical City McKinney surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Visitation will be held at Allen Funeral Home on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 20, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church - Wylie.  Dr. A. L. Draper will officiate.  Perry will be laid to rest in his hometown of Italy, Texas at 3:30 P.M.
