Pete Hernandez, 75, of Wylie passed away in Rowlett on Monday January 13, 2020.  Pete was born to Francisco and Gertrude (Rodriguez) Hernandez on Thursday, September 21, 1944 in the town of Glen Flora, Texas.  Pete met the love of his life, Estella Gonzalez and they were married in Oton, Texas on April 15, 1962.  Pete and Estella moved to Wylie and they raised their four children here and Wylie became home to them.  Pete worked for the Plano Independent School district as a plumber.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wylie.  Pete liked being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years, Estella Hernandez of Wylie; children, Irene Hernandez of Rowlett, Judy McDonald and husband Doug of Springtown, Amanda Hernandez and domestic partner, Cassie of Wylie, Pete Hernandez Jr. and wife OFelia of Plainview; 4 brothers, Roy Cuellar, Joe Hernandez, Emil Cisneros and Nick Cuellar; 4 sisters, Caroline Gonzalez, Ellen Sanchez, Jeanette Lopez and Clara White.  He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Pete was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Junior Cuellar.

Visitation will be held at Allen Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.  Pete's funeral is scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in the Draper Chapel, First Baptist Church - Wylie.  Dr. A. L. Draper will officiate.  Pete will be interred in the Wylie Cemetery.
