Rick Wold departed this life in the late evening hours of Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the age of 62. He was in his home surrounded by family. Rick was born on October 24, 1957, to Vernon and Ardelle Wold of Grand Forks, North Dakota. He moved to Wylie, Texas with his family in 1986, where they have resided for the past 34 years.

Rick graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1975, and attended the University Of North Dakota, also in Grand Forks. He met the love of his life and lifelong companion, Sandy during their teenage years, and were married December, 1981. They had two sons, Chris and Adam, and were members of a large, multi-generational family that included his only grandson, Ayden, son of Adam. Rick had a strong love and fondness for his entire family but did take particular joy in being "grandpa." He held many different positions throughout his working life, but had the greatest passion for woodwork and architecture. This passion and entrepreneur spirit lead to the creation of his own construction company, which he started in 1985, and continued to operate until the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Wold and mother, Ardelle Wold.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Sandy Wold of Wylie, Texas; two sons, Chris Wold of Cibolo, Texasand Adam Wold of Wylie, Texas; one grandson, Ayden Wold of Wylie, Texas; four sisters and their spouses, Bonnie Christiansen of Plano, Texas, Linda Hurley of Bellingham, Washington, Nancy Bina of Allen, Texas, and Diane Klamm of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and close friends.

Due to the COVID-19 virus and the restrictions imposed, the family regrettably is unable to celebrate the life of Rick at this time. In lieu of flowers and to share your respects to the immediate family, condolences may be left on Rick's online guest book on the Allen Funeral Home website.
