Robert (Bob) Allan Kucera of Garland, TX passed away suddenly with no warning signs of Cardiopulmonary Arrest on the morning of Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Richardson, TX. Bob was born July 6, 1952 in Chicago, IL to Al Kucera and Dorothy Dunne Lesch; both deceased.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE WAS HELD TO CELEBRATE BOB'S LIFE ON SATURDAY, JULY 15 AT FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH GARLAND TEXAS

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Diana. They met while both attended Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall, TX in 1992. After a courtship of 1 1/2 years, they were married on May 14, 1994 in a memorable ceremony in the home of Diana's parents, Scott and Lynda Simpson. Bob is also survived by a son, Tim Kucera; son/grandson James Hunter Horn, and step-children Nolan and Lina Horn and Dusty Roan. He is also survived by another grandson, Noah Kucera. He has 3 brothers, Chris, Mike and Donnie; and a sister, Sandy. Another sister, Shari is deceased but not forgotten by her family.
Bob and Diana enjoyed trips to Santa Fe, Napa Valley, weekend trips to the Hill Country area outside of San Antonio, weekend trips to New Orleans, Hawaii, Ireland & Seattle.
Bob was life-long employee in the Insurance Industry, working in three different states (Texas, Florida and Pennsylvania) throughout his career. He often said that his favorite job was the current one as a Regional Marketing Manager for the United Fire Group (UFG). Diana has been greatly comforted by the outpouring of support from the wonderful people at this great company.
Anyone that REALLY knew Bob was well aware of his passion for football. He was a walking encyclopedia of football trivia, including players, coaches and teams in Texas High School, NCAA and the NFL. He satisfied his passion for the game by building a greatly admired and respected career in the Brotherhood of Football Officiating as a referee at the High School and College level. Most recently Bob spent the last 5 years as Booth Replay Official in the Sunbelt Conference.
Bob's life was enlightened and entertained by lifetime friendships, too numerous to even begin counting. It has been suggested that Bob had more friends than a man should be able to enjoy in five lifetimes. Bob was a Christian and was passionate about his faith. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all of his family and the many friends who count it an honor to have shared this life with him!
