Rev. Robert Jesse Torrence, age 78 departed this life on May 17, 2024 at his home in Wylie, Texas. He was born on May 1, 1946 to the late Henley and Beulah Torrence. He was a member of the Wylie United Methodist Church. He served as an AME Methodist pastor for many years while living in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a soldier in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He loved reading the Bible and watching sports and sports debate shows. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Rufus Torrence; and one son, Adrian Dominique Torrence.

He married the love of his life, Joyce Arnett Torrence, on September 6, 1969. To this union, three sons were born. His greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He loved his family dearly.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 54 years, Joyce Torrence of Wylie, Texas; two sons, Robert (Teri) Torrence Jr. of San Antonio, Texas and Antoine Torrence of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Delcia (Charles) Webster of Belleville, Arkansas, Neita Kellybrew and Joann Pinkney both of Dardanelle, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.

As per Robert's request no funeral or memorial service will be held.
