Roger Gross joined our Heavenly Father Oct 2 ^nd , 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Roger was born July 29 ^th , 1938, in Portland, OR, to Raphael and Inga Gross.

Roger was preceded in death by his mother Inga Gross, father Raphael Gross, brother John Grossand wife Raydeen and their son Todd; brother-in-law Paul Fastabend and sister-in-law Marilyn Gross; nephew Terry Fastabend. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy Gross; children - Michael Gross and wife, Marian Gross; Anita Thomas and husband, Robert Thomas; Jeffrey Gross; Linda Weiger and husband, Adam Weiger; Lynette Tidwell and husband, Richard Tidwell; 13 grandchildren; siblings Mary Lou Reimer and brother-in-law Morrie Reimer, JoAnne Fastabend, and Bill Gross.

Growing up in Oregon, Roger had many adventures with his siblings. Following the train tracks, fishing on the Columbia River, and working on the family land. On his 18 ^th birthday he left home and joined the Air Force. It was then he met his beautiful wife, Judy, in Albuquerque while stationed near town. They married and started the journey of a lifetime, traveling the world while defending his country during the Vietnam war. While in Vietnam, he encountered the Lord in a special way and gave his heart to Him, impacting the generations that followed.

After serving 20 dedicated years, he retired from the Air Force and began employment in civil service followed by the private sector for the government. He finally retired and moved to Okmulgee, OK, eventually residing in Greenville, TX. His loyalty to our county never wavered.

In his younger years, bowling (his first love) and ping pong were his passions. Sports were always in his back pocket. He loved to sing! He was a heartthrob in his school days and lead worship in church. He loved spending his time woodworking, building furniture that would last longer than Ft Knox, fishing in any body of water, researching dead people, watching football (if only for conversation) and loving his family well. Jesus remained the center of his life until his last breath. He will be greatly missed.

Grandchildren: Hannah and Clay Martin, Garrett, Emily and Joshua Thomas; Zoye McVay, Tori and Logan Gross; Austin, Zachary and Ava Weiger; Ethan Cole and Logan Chase Tidwell.
