Ronald F. Miller passed on to his Lord on Wednesday, July 24th at the age of 71 after battling Alzheimer's for fifteen years. His loving wife Joanne, of 51 years, cared for him at home until the very end.

Ron was born December 14, 1947 t o Marge and Orlan Miller. His family moved to Lubbock, TX in 1965 where his father worked with Sunset School of Preaching. Ron attended Coronado High School – where he met the love of his life Joanne.  Ron and Joanne married at Trinity Heights Church of Christ in Oakcliff in 1968. Ron graduated from Texas Tech University in 1971 with a business degree and was commissioned as an Air Force officer. He served on active duty and the National Guard for over 20 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1993.

The family moved back to DeSoto, and eventually Wylie as Ron worked with Rockwell-Collins until his retirement in 2005.  During his years in Wylie, Ron was able to fulfill his dream of building his own house which was completed in 1990. Ron was passionate about woodworking and was an excellent carpenter. He loved having his children and grandchildren around him, reading them books, walking with them around "the land", singing and laughing with them. His faith was important, and the family had many extended loving church families over the years including DeSoto, B uckingham Road, Wylie, Austin St., and Pitman Creek churches of Christs.

Ron is survived by his wife Joanne Speed Miller, daughters Claudine (Miles) Humphries, Regina (Mitch) Harding, Amy (Josh) McKiddy,  sisters Barbara (Don) Abernathy, Becky (Bill) Day and Beverly Miller and 11 loving grandchildren: Ashleigh Humphries, Grace Humphries, Katy Humphries, Anna Humphries, Sarah Humphries, Tucker (Emily) Harding, Micah (Dominic) Ramos, Cameron Harding, Sydney McKiddy, Collin McKiddy and Ian Mckiddy. And many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A special thank you to our family, church family and friends for all their support, prayers and encouragement and to God for constant strength and endurance.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Allen Funeral Home (Wylie, TX) on Sunday, August 4 ^th .  Funeral services will be at Buckingham Road Church of Christ on Monday, August 5 ^th at 10:00am.   Ron will be laid to rest with full military honors at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas on August 5 ^th at 2:30pm.   An option of memorial donations may be made to the Dallas – North Texas Alzheimer's Association to help support on going research to help cure this disease. https://www.alz.org/dallasnetexas/donate
