Ronald (Ron) Van Wisdom, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15th at Founders Plaza in Wylie, Texas.

Ron was born in Farmersville, TX on October 9th, 1946 to Henry and Adlee Wisdom. He leaves behind his older brother Jimmie Wisdom and his wife and children, his younger brother Brad Wisdom and his children, several cousins, and a host of friends and hunting buddies.

Ron was an avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman. He was a lifetime member of both the Terrell and Grand Prairie Gun Clubs. He was passionate about hunter education and gun safety, and as an instructor for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept., he could often be found in the classroom, the gun range or out in the field teaching the younger generation how to safely hunt and handle firearms. Ron spent much of his life fulfilling his calling "to develop safe, responsible, knowledgeable and involved hunters and shooters".

As an enthusiastic foodie, Ron would not hesitate to try a new recipe to cook what he had hunted, and he was also a man who loved to introduce his friends and family to new foods and restaurants. Ron loved to entertain and treat his family. He was a great source of joy and laughter for everyone around him.
