Royce Abbott, 82, of Allen, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.  Royce was born on October 4, 1935 in Red River County, Texas.  His parents are the late Joseph Benjamin and Vivian Loraine (McDonald ) Abbott.

Royce spent most of his adult life in law enforcement.  He was a sheriff's deputy, police office and also a Police Chief.  Locally he was with Collin County Sherriff's Office and also as Police Chief of City of Wylie.

Royce is survived by his children, Tony Abbott of Bagwell, Texas, Steven Dwayne Abbott and wife, Lynn of Garland, Texas and Melanie Thompson of Allen, Texas; his sister, Eva Jeffers of Bagwell, Texas and brothers, Burt Abbott and Danny Abbott of Kermit, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Royce was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alberta Marie (Davis) Abbott and his son Gary Mark Abbott.

A Memorial Service for Royce will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel.
