Shirley Martin, 82, of Murphy, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19th, 2020, in Allen, Texas.  She was born on July 7, 1938 in Rockwall, Texas to her late parents, Dave and Leona (Miles) Walker.

Shirley grew up around Wylie and was a graduate of Wylie High School.  After graduation she met the love of her life, Allen Martin.  Shirley and Allen married on April 11, 1958 in Wylie, Texas. Sadly, Allen proceeded Shirley in death in 2017.

In 1958, Shirley began working at Texas Transformers where she worked her way up to the Supervisor of Testing. She remained in this position until she retired in 2000.

Shirley loved God and was a devoted member of Murphy Road Baptist Church. She was active in the choir and loved to sing to the Lord.

Shirley is survived by her children; Jacqueline Renee Elom of Murphy, Texas and Heydon Martin and wife, Crystal of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren, Christina McGrath and husband, Max, Justin Garnett and wife, Esme, Josh Garnett and wife, Charlotte, Mikayla Martin, and  Lillian Martin; 3 great grandchildren, Zac, Ethan, and Heaven; brothers David Walker of Little Falls, New York, Norman and Ann Walker of Cleburne, Texas, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Don L. Miller of Wylie, Texas, Mickey Martin and wife Linda, Dolores Nash and husband Norm, and Joyce Martin. And many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband Allen, Shirley is proceeded in death by brother Joe Walker and sister Sandra Miller.

A Celebration of Shirley's life and her burial will be held at the Kreymer Cemetery on Thursday, July 23rd at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Lash Banks will officiate.
