Steven Wayne Clemmons, 64, of Wylie, Texas, passed away from a heart attack on May 11, 2026, following a long battle with addiction.

Born on December 23, 1961 in Plano, Texas, Steve—known to many as "Slim"—was a proud Wylie Pirate (AHMO!) graduating with the Class of 1980. He was the first in his family to earn a college degree, graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Fishing was Steve's favorite pastime and he excelled at it, spending countless hours catching crappie, catfish, and bass limits on Lake Lavon and Lake Ray Hubbard.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Darla Clemmons, and is survived by his father, Wayne Clemmons, as well as his brother David Clemmons and wife Stephanie.

A memorial service celebrating Steve's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at Allen Funeral Home in Wylie, Texas. There will be no visitation or graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cottonwood Cemetery Foundation, PO Box 1431, Wylie, TX 75098.
