Tena Renee Chapman Sorrells passed away in Dallas on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.  Tena was born in Lubbock, Texas on Sunday May 22, 1960 to William and Jayne (Griffin) Chapman.  Her father Bill had preceded her in death.  Tena grew up in Wylie and graduated from Wylie High School. When not involved in school activities you could find her working at her parent's restaurant.   Tena married Wiley Lon Sorrells on December 6, 1980.  She and Wiley raised their boys here in Wylie where they were active in the boys sports and helping them raise and show livestock. Tena had worked in a daycare center until her health prevented it. Tena was a member of the First Baptist - Sachse for many years.

Tena is survived by her husband of 39 years Wiley Sorrells of Nevada; sons, Shane Sorrells of Wylie and Shawn Sorrells and wife Sarah of Wylie; mother, Jayne Chapman of Wylie; sister Pam Mackie of Huntsville, Texas and the light of her life her 4 grandchildren, Kenlee, Raelynn, Amelia and Trigg and many other family members and friends.  Besides her dad Bill, Tena was also preceded in death by her sister, Debora Eakin.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist - Sachse.  Tena's funeral will begin at 2:00 P.M. also at First Baptist - Sachse.  Rev. Jared Whitt will officiate.  Tena will be buried at the Wylie Cemetery.
