Tom Jerry Box passed away in Plano, Texas on Thursday September 22, 2016 at the age of 77. Jerry was born in Eudora, Arkansas on Sunday, March 26, 1939.  He was one of eight children born to Ervin LeDell Box and Pearl (Hampton) Box along with three older step sisters. Jerry moved to Justin, Texas to live with his grandmother and graduated from Justin High School in 1957. The rest of the family later moved to Dallas, Texas.  After school he served in the United States Army, only serving time on US soil.

Jerry married Eleanor J. Stohlmann on February 26, 1967 at Zion Lutheran Church in Dallas.  He was employed by General Motors parts division in Dallas, which later moved their offices to Burleson, Texas. Jerry retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was an active member of the United Auto Workers.

Jerry loved to read, play cards and dominoes with relatives and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed observing wildlife from his porch chair both in Texas and Nebraska.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ellie Box of St. Paul; his daughter Sherri L. Brower of Wylie; his three siblings, Jim H. Box, Rita Box Byrnes and Elbert W. Box; and his three grandchildren, Parker R. Brower, Collin R. Brower and Grayson R. Brower.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Allen Funeral Home, Wylie, TX.  Jerry's body will be taken to Louisville, Nebraska where he will be laid to rest.
