The angels came and took Tommie Jo Douthitt home to her Lord on Wednesday November 30, 2022.  Tommie was born in Lavon, Texas on Sunday September 13, 1931. Her parents are the late Thomas Miles Williams and Eura (Sweet) L. Geren Williams. Tommie went to school in Lavon and was a member of The First Baptist of Lavon. She married Joe J. Douthitt in Dallas, Texas on September 14, 1948. They moved to Wylie where they raised their three children.  Together she and Joe operated the Wylie Feed Store.  They also had a ceramic shop which they ran for many years. Many  went to paint and fire their creations with guidance from Tommie and Joe. Tommie and Joe moved to Centerville but after Joe's death she came home to Lavon living up the road from her daughter, Betty.

Tommie is survived by her daughter Betty Douthitt; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; many friends and other relatives.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe J. Douthitt, son Dennis Douthitt and daughter Laura Whitmore.

Visitation is Friday December 2, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Allen Funeral Home in Wylie.  Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday December 3, 2022 3:30 P.M. at the Lavon Baptist Church.  Internment will be held at Millwood Cemetery after the service.
