Life Reflections

Tracy Allen Smith of Wylie, Texas passed away at his residence on August 18, 2021 at the age of 63.  He was born on September 3, 1957 to Prince Leon and Hattie Bell Smith (Hartsfield) in Durham County, North Carolina.

He grew up in Wendell, North Carolina where he graduated from Vaiden Whitley High School.  Tracy continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Tracy met his wife, Shirley Ann Tyson, at Texas Instruments where he worked as an Expediter for 11 years.  He was a supervisor at Teccor Electronics for 19 years and Fritz Industries for 6 years.

Tracy married Shirley on December 9, 1988.  He was a devoted and loving husband to Shirley for 32 years.  He was a loving father to his children, Brian and Shannon, and had overwhelming love for his five grandchildren (Nevaeh, Samia, Em'Ryih, Jaxson and Elaina).

Tracy and Shirley were baptized together at North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship.  He has been a member of Northeast Bible Church since 2005 where he served faithfully as a Communion Team Leader and a Monetary Team Leader.

Tracy had many hobbies including fishing, tennis, bowling and chess to name a few.  He loved people and had a heart for others. He spent most Sunday afternoons playing games and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed making all who stopped by feel welcome by throwing together a quick snack or a meal. He was always just a phone call away to anyone who needed help.  He truly had a servant's heart.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shirley, and his children, Brian Smith (Janice) of Wylie, TX and Shannon Cantly (Prezley) of Princeton, TX; his mother Hattie Bell Smith of Boydton, VA; 3 brothers: Maurice Smith (Beverley) of Arden, NC, Lemart Smith of Wendell, NC, and Stacy Smith (Linda) of Dallas, TX; 2 sisters: Sharon Johnson and Kelly Chavis (Hunter), all of Wendell, NC; and 5 grandchildren. He also had a large extended family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Prince Leon Smith, and a sister, Anglia Taylor (Smith).
