Trent Wayne Taylor , 63, of Plano, Texas was born on February 18, 1954 and passed from this life of advanced lung and brain cancer at Plano Medical City on August 26, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Carolyn (Smith Long) Taylor of Plano; his mother Dorothy (Uselton Taylor) Dunn and husband Larry Dunn of Allen; his brothers Tim Taylor (wife Christine, daughter Leah) and Keith Taylor (daughter Natalie) both of Lucas; his step-brothers Conoly Dunn of Wylie and Chris Dunn of Tyler (daughter April Duckworth of Mississippi); his best friend Jerry (Skip) Wilson, Jr of Plano; his step-sons Greg Long (wife Sherry) of The Colony and Jason Long of Addison; his step-grandchildren Katie Maples (husband Michael) of Lewisville and Kristie Shewmake (husband Torey, daughter Emma) of Dallas; his sisters-in-law Cathye Miller (husband Steve) of Carl's Corner and Terri Kelm (husband Gary) of Malone; brothers-in-law Mike Smith (wife Linda) of Lake Jackson, Richard (Rick) Smith of Hillsboro, David Smith (wife Carolyn) of Angleton, Tommy Smith (wife Terry) of Whitney; and many, many friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved father Tommy Taylor.

Trent was born in Plano and lived there his entire life. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in Business. Being born in Plano in 1954, he saw Plano grow from a very small town with one traffic light to the current metropolis it has become.

Trent was a generous and kind man with many friends. He enjoyed fishing, watching all sports, especially the Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and Rangers. He loved relaxing on the patio during a good thunderstorm enjoying the smells and the electricity in the air. His morning routine was to bring in the paper, turn on a morning news show, fix a cup of coffee, then read the sports page, check his lottery numbers, read the obituaries, then off to work by 6:30am where he managed Batteries Plus Bulbs in Plano. He had a sonorous voice and was told many times that he should have become an announcer or gone into radio.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00pm with a reception to follow at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2242 W Lucas Rd, Allen, TX 75002 . All are welcome to attend and celebrate Trent's life.
