Tyler Lee Hughey, age 30, of Wylie, Texas, was born on December 8, 1995, and went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2025.
Tyler was a kind hearted soul and a gentle giant whose presence made people feel safe, seen, and loved. He had a love for baseball and football and could talk sports with anyone, but what truly defined Tyler was his heart. He loved hard, laughed easily, and had a jokester's spirit that could bring a smile even on the hardest days. He also loved the outdoors and found great joy in hunting and fishing, especially in the simple moments spent outside with family and friends. He truly was the best human—faithful, loyal, and full of grace.
Tyler was faced with a long and difficult journey following his accident. He showed remarkable strength and resilience throughout, facing each day with quiet courage. Today, his family finds peace knowing Tyler is fully healed and resting in the presence of God.
Tyler is survived by his loving parents, Gary and Vickie Hughey; his sister, Jessica Jordan, and her husband AJ Jordan; and his cherished nephew and niece, Kane and Karsyn Jordan, who brought him so much joy. He was deeply loved by his family and will forever be missed beyond words.
A service to celebrate Tyler's life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at The Cross Church in Wylie, TX. Though his time on earth was far too short, the impact Tyler made through his kindness, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
