Verla Marquardt passed away on Friday October 15, 2021 in Rowlett, Texas at the age of 87.  Verla was born on Thursday March 22, 1934 in the small town of Adel, Iowa.  Her parents are the late Edwin Robert and Golda Florence (Huffman) Long. She met  Otis Delmar Marquardt while living in Adel and they wed on June 7, 1953 in Adel, Iowa. Verla worked for a insurance company as the mail room manager. Besides working outside the home she was a loving wife and mother.

Surviving Verla is her husband of 68 years, Otis Delmar Marquardt; daughters, Judith Ann Stark and husband Alan of Garland, Texas, Laurie Marquardt of Adel, Iowa and sister Joan Short of Adel, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Jason Stark, Casey Cunningham, Tait Cunningham, Megan Christenson (Beau Purvis) and Taelor Christensen (Jimmie Pirillo); 4 great-grandchildren. Her parents and brother Dean Long have preceded her in death.

She has gone home to her Lord and even though we will miss her, we know she is in a much better place.
