It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Vickey Jean Alley on January 18, 2022 at 6pm.  She is survived by her husband Jerry Lynn Stiller, mother: Norma Sue Wilson, ex-husband and lifelong friend John Randolph(Randy) Alley,  a daughter, Kelly Kristen Alley, a son, Travis James Alley, a daughter in law, Danielle Lynn Alley, a granddaughter, Ava Lynn Burnett, a grandson, Treyson James Alley, sisters: Deborah Stamper, Sandra Adams, a brother, Mike Wilson, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  Brother in-laws: Ross Stamper, Joel Adams, and sister in law, Cheryl Wilson.  Many extended family members: Ida Inez Alley, Gary Dwayne Alley, Traci Lynn Alley Allen….so many…, truly blessed and last but never appreciated more, many dear friends: Kimberly D. Attwood, Melissa Henson, Gayle Reeves, Randy and Cheryl Owens, Mark Gerstner and others.

Vickey was born in Kansas City Missouri, May 5, 1956 to Edward and Norma Wilson.  She was a 1974 graduate of Raytown High School, and a 1997 graduate of Dallas Baptist University where she earned a Bachelor degree in Marketing and Information Technology.  Vickey spent the majority of her professional life with Texas Instruments and Raytheon as an Information Technology professional.  She was an ovarian cancer victim in 2013 and underwent several different treatments off and on since then.  Although she returned to work briefly, she retired and spent her time enjoying life to its fullest.

Vickey was a true adventurer and loved going places and doing new things.  She loved the outdoors and spent as much time as possible outside.  She loved traveling and spending time with her family whenever possible.  She had many interests, but her real love was sewing and creating quilts.  She spent most of her days working on beautiful works of art that she would design, cut out, sew the pieces together and then quilt.  She would use everything from new material to scraps of clothing to t-shirts.  When she wasn't doing that, she had a myriad of other interests.  She would ride motorcycles with her husband and family and just loved old hot rod cars.  She had a prized red 1957 Chevy Sedan Delivery.  She applied her sewing skills to doing some of the upholstery on the interior herself and would take it to car shows with the biggest smile on her face you could imagine.  She would talk with people that stopped her to ask about the car and would beam ear to ear when other motorists would look at her and give her a thumbs up.

At home in the evenings, she loved watching Big Bang Theory, old movies and the Texas Rangers baseball team.  She met her husband Jerry in 2002 and they spent almost every moment together doing something they both enjoyed from just watching TV to hunting at their cabin to going to the drag races.  She was a fierce competitor in a shooting sport that Jerry was involved in also.  They would go together to competitions and they both would compete.  Vickey once shot a perfect target in a national event and finished in the top 5, beating Jerry out for the weekend.  That was one of her proudest moments.  She smiled about that for days.  Although she loved the shooting, she probably enjoyed seeing all the people and spending time with them even more.  Everyone in the sport loved to see Vickey come and she brightened everyone's day that visited with her.

Vickey was a wonderful, caring and gracious mother who truly and even to this day, always set the standard of how all three of her children should strive to live their lives. From "doing the right thing" seeming so easy, to showing her son how to handle his first haircut he got on his own, in which turned out to be a lot less than he expected.  Her advice to him was "just tell everyone you're starting a new fad".

According to her daughter in law Danielle, Vickey was one of the most incredible women that she had ever known, and was beyond blessed to have her as a second mom. She had a special way of guiding them in the right direction without actually leading them, so they could better themselves. When Danielle chose to change her career, they were worried about how the move out of state would impact Vickey, but to their surprise there was no objection. With a big smile, she welcomed the new opportunity to travel to new places for a visit. Her perseverance in life was amazing and will forever be inspirational to all of them.

Vickey always had a smile on her face and never let her affliction get her down.  She kept the most positive attitude about life and hope imaginable.  Even at the very end, she wanted to talk to her friends and family about the good times and never once complained about the disease she had. She was an inspiration to us all and wanted all of us to remember her life and celebrate that we all knew and spent time with her.  She is now and will forever be missed beyond words.
