Vicki Lynne Faurote, 51, of Richardson, Texas was ushered away to her eternal home surrounded by those she loved most in the world. Vicki was born on Wednesday, August 16, 1967 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Vicki grew up in Ft. Wayne and graduated from Carroll High School in 1985. Vicki was accepted into Purdue University where she graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology in May of 1991. Ever the learner, she went on to complete a degree in horticulture from Richland College.

Vicki married her high school sweetheart, Joe Faurote, on April 4, 1992 in their hometown of Ft. Wayne. They laid down roots in Texas that year and together they became the proud parents of two amazing boys, Daniel, 17, and Aden, 12.  While Vicki wore many hats, the hat she wore best was that of motherhood. Vicki loved being a mom, molding and shaping her boys with seemingly limitless attention and energy. She took much pride in attending various events of the boys, especially Aiden's baseball games where she was his lead cheerleader and sideline coach. In her spare time she enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and the Chicago Cubs, family vacations to Port Aransas, mastering the art of cooking, caring for dogs and demonstrating her flair for the creative. She enjoyed horticulture, wood working and interior-scapes. She loved being outdoors by walking the dogs and working in the well-manicured garden that sprung to life each year with her touch and words of encouragement. Vicki was also able to leverage her degree in CET by being a member on the City of Garland Planning and Zoning Committee. Vicki was active in her church, Woodcreek, by serving tours in Kidcreek, attending different women's organizations such as Heart 2 Heart, and the discipline and mentoring of other women.

Surviving Vicki is her husband of 26 years, Joe Faurote, her two sons, Daniel and Aiden Faurote; Leo Red her beloved chow-chow; her mother, Cheryl Ballard and step-father Harold Ballard of Ft. Wayne Indiana; her brother, Randall Ballard of Louisville, Kentucky; along with a host of other extended family members and immeasurable friends.

A Celebration of the Life of Vicki Faurote will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. with the service beginning at 3:00 P.M. Pastor Scott Stonehouse will officiate. Vicki will be laid to rest at the Wylie Cemetery following her service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Daniel Faurote's GoFundMe account, where he will complete his Eagle Project for Operation Kindness, a local no-kill animal shelter that Vicki supported for years. His project is to improve the walkway for the animals along with providing a center bench for the volunteers to gather at and refresh. He plans to dedicate his project in loving memory of his mother. In the event that any additional monies are raised they will be donated to The Myositis Association (myositis.org) in hopes of raising awareness of and ultimately finding additional treatments and potential cures for those afflicted with the disease that ultimately claimed his mother's life.
